Cate Blanchett Will Play as Maid Marian in Robin Hood Movie
Movie Showbiz News – Cate Blanchett, the Australian actress, 39, is to replace Sienna Miller as Maid Marian in the new remake of Robin Hood.
Cate will star alongside Russell Crowe, who is playing Robin Hood in the Ridley Scott-directed epic, produced by Brian Grazer.
“They are both highly accomplished dramatic actors who are taken seriously playing rich characters in period pieces, but each has the ability to show you fun,” Brian told industry publication Variety.
The film, which was initially going to be entitled Nottingham, will begin production in the UK in early April and will center more on the origins of Robin.
Abandoned as a child, he finds it difficult to fall in love until he meets his match with the strong-willed Marian.
