Drew Barrymore Will Direct Third Twilight Film?
Movie Showbiz News – Drew Barrymore, the He’s Just Not That Into You star – who has just finished work on her directorial debut, Whip It! starring Ellen Page – is reportedly in the line-up of potential directors for the third Twilight film, Eclipse.
Drew would replace New Moon director Chris Weitz, who replaced the original Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke.
Summit nor Barrymore’s reps would comment for the story, which was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.
New Moon sees Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner reprise their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively.
Hilary Duff was reportedly eying a role in New Moon; Dakota Fanning has confirmed she’s in talks to play a vampire; and singer Madonna is reportedly keen to be involved.
New Moon hits theaters on November 20, 2009; Eclipse is due to be released on June 30, 2010.
