Celebrity Gossip – Madonna — who is now mom to David Banda, three, and four-year-old Mercy James — snubbed 12 needy orphans so she could adopt two Malawian kids she really wanted, it has been claimed. The singer  was reportedly asked to pick from a dozen children who had been chosen for her by the Malawian government.

According to a new Channel 4 documentary, the Holiday hitmaker chose David and Mercy instead despite them having families. Madonna, 50, was able to adopt Mercy earlier this month after successfully appealing a court ruling which refused her bid.

Madonna and Mercy: What Really Happened? will be shown in the UK tomorrow at 8pm on Channel 4.
