Penelope Cruz Scared of Auditions
Movie Celebrity Gossip – Penelope Cruz — who is currently dating Spanish hunk Javier Bardem — used to be petrified of giving speeches and red carpet interviews — but now she has a new fear of auditions too. The Oscar-winning actress admits the scariest moment of her career was singing and dancing for her role in the musical Nine.
“Nine is the first time that I sing, the first time I do a musical. I was singing and dancing and it was a lot of fun but it was scary also.
“I did five castings to get the movie with all the dancing and the singing. I was nervous and it was hard work but I was so glad I got it.”
Cruz, 35, recently revealed that she has “no worries” about looking rough onscreen.
“If a character needs to look good then you try to find the look for that character,” she said. “If it means to look bad then you have to put your ego away — whatever the character needs. I have no worries about that”
